任海，男，1970年10月生，博士、研究员、博士生导师。现任华南植物园党委书记、副主任。曾赴美国和荷兰学习或合作研究。主要从事南亚热带森林和珍稀濒危植物的生态恢复研究，发现了南亚热带典型人工林下乡土树种定居限制机理及初步解除对策，首次利用生物技术和生态恢复技术实现了报春苣苔等国家一级珍稀濒危植物的野外回归。现主持有973专题、国家科技支撑计划课题、国家自然科学基金、广东省科技攻关项目和广州市科技攻关项目等课题6项。出版有《恢复生态学导论》等专著3本，发表论文80余篇（其中SCI论文50余篇），授权发明专利12项（已全部转让）。已培养毕业博士生5名、硕士生6名。曾获中国科学院科技进步奖一等奖和广东省自然科学/科技进步一等奖等成果6项，曾获中国科学院院长奖学金（1995）、广东省第六届五四青年奖章（2004）、第十一届中国青年科技奖（2010）等荣誉6次。

2010年国家环保科技进步三等奖（乡土植物在珠三角城镇生态绿地构建中的研究与应用，排名第一）。2005年广东省科技进步一等奖（全球变化与农业生态系统相互作用研究，排名第二）。2003年广东省科技进步一等奖（广东主要农情动态监测及快速预报研究，排名第六）。2002年广东省自然科学三等奖（南热带森林生态系统的土壤微生物和氮素循环研究，排名第六）。2000年广东省自然科学二等奖（华南热带亚热带森林生态系统物质循环与能量流动研究，排名第二）。1999年广东省自然科学一等奖（森林动态学理论与应用，排名第六）。1999年中国科学院科技进步一等奖（热带亚热带退化生态系统的植被恢复研究，排名第十）。1998年广东省自然科学二等奖（南亚热带森林生态系统的能量利用效率研究，排名第五）。
